Squirrel Recipes

After you've enjoyed a successful squirrel hunting trip, it's time to take those squirrel and make a meal. There are tons of squirrel recipes here on the internet. I'll highlight some of my very own favorites. If you don't see a recipe that you like, feel free to use the search field at the top of the screen to search for others. You're sure to find a recipe that will make you want to rush off to the woods to get more squirrel.

If you are taking a youngster to the woods to teach them how to hunt, this is a great opportunity to introduce them to some cooking basics also. I like to change the old saying to make it apply to squirrel hunting: Give a man a squirrel and he will have a meal, teach a man to squirrel hunt and he will have a meal for life. Not to mention a lot of fun in the process.

My all time favorite squirrel recipe has got to be Fried Squirrel. Fried Squirrel goes great with squirrel gravy, hot steaming biscuits and a big glass of ice cold milk. I even like to enjoy leftover fried squirrel that has been in the fridge overnight. The chances of having any leftover though, may be pretty slim. It will definitely be a hit with friends and family.

BBQ Squirrel is another great recipe that will please even the most critical barbeque lover. Prepare your squirrel for the barbeque grill and enjoy this great treat alone or with your choice of other grilled meats.

Don't have time to cook your squirrel right now? Try the Crockpot Squirrel recipe. This is a great recipe for when you want a great meal later, but don't have time to prepare it right now. Just cook the squirrel in the crockpot while you are at work or out squirrel hunting more. When you get back home, you will have a very delicious meal.
